Esther attended STRONGCAMP Toronto, but you may have also seen her on stage in Figure Competitions. Word spread around STRONG headquarters that she was one to watch, and we think you’ll agree.

Why did you sign up for STRONGCAMP?
I’m in the middle of getting ready for a show and wanted to do something fun and inspiring that aligned with my training. And because I love what Strong Fitness Magazine is about: REAL strong women! It’s about women that are strong in more ways than just physically…. And because Nichelle Laus was running the camp! She is so genuine, motivating and inspiring.

What was your favorite part of the STRONGCAMP weekend?
Wow… How do I decide? There was no favourite part… I loved it all. There were three workouts each day which challenged me in all different ways… and left me exhausted at the end. Exhausted and happy. I also loved meeting so many other wonderful, like-minded women–many whom I now consider friends! And I also enjoyed meeting and hanging out with some of the staff that make the magazine. They took the time to explain their vision for the magazine and I love it!

What was the most valuable lesson or technique you learned (training or otherwise)?
Never miss the chance to challenge yourself. If you doubt and don’t try, you will never know what you are capable of. I did the rope climb for the first time ever and surprised myself by climbing to the top twice! I didn’t realize my own strength. And I climbed across the entire monkey bars and even completed 5 pull-ups at the end! Another surprising moment for myself! I have learned that if I try and fail…my success is that I tried and gave myself a new challenge!

Who is your biggest supporter?
I honestly cannot pick just one. I have amazing support from my boyfriend, family, friends and co-workers! I am blessed.

What are your future plans?
I am focusing on my first National Show in three weeks and will make my new plan after that. Im a “one-step-at-a-time” kind of girl. But I know I will be attending Strong Camp again soon!
